Holiday meals are a convenient way to spend time with family, but don’t make eating the sole purpose of family time. Plan fun outdoor activities, such as ice skating . It’ll be a fun way to spend time together while also burning calories.
Do you plan on doing any outdoor activities during the holiday? --------- Holiday Tip #2: What are you planning to cook for Christmas dinner?
This year I'm going to be cooking some Cornish hen's in my instant pot! Cornish hen's pretty much taste like chicken but they're smaller in size.
I love using my instant pot because it reduces the usual cooking time by at least half!
This week was our first time trying out Goodfood and we have enjoyed it! Naveenmade Greek-style salmon over orzo with herbed tzakiki sauce, lemon-pepper chicken with crispy grana padano kalette, and tonight I made tomato & chickpea coconut curry. Each meal took about 20-30 minutes. If you’re interested in trying out Goodfood, comment below and I’ll send a referral so you get $40 off your first box !
Since gyms are currently closed, more people have been staying active at home and outdoors. It can be hard to have a comfortable workout outdoors when there is a heat wave. I have some tips on exercising outdoors in the heat. - Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated as you'll be sweating out more water in the heat - Wear light coloured clothing so the sunlight doesn't get absorbed as much (black absorbs the most light) - Wear sweat-wicking and breathable workout clothing - Avoid exercising during the hottest time of the day (eg. early to mid afternoon). Try to get out in the morning or evening - Take breaks as required - Find a shaded area to exercise while outdoors
Enjoy the summer while it's still here! It's almost August already!
Now that you’re staying at home more often, do you find yourself eating even when you’re not hungry? One reason why you may be overeating is because you’re bored. I also feel like I’m snacking more because I’m at home 😅. There are a variety of ways to prevent overeating and below are some tips to help you.
Some tips to help you avoid overeating include: • Drink more water during the day and before meals 💦 • Include protein in your meals to keep you staying full longer 🥩 • Brush your teeth after dinner 🦷 • Minimize distractions during meals. I make sure that we’re eating meals at the dinner table and not in front of the tv 📺. • Avoid eating snacks directly out of the bag 🍿. This causes us to overeat without even realizing it. • Use a food diary or app to track what you’ve eaten. I recommend using @myfitnesspal to track your food.

Granola bars are quick and portable snack when you’re on the go. When you make these at home, you know exactly what ingredients are going in. I bought all my ingredients at Bulk Barn so that each time I make granola bars, I can try different nuts 🥜 and dried fruit 🍑!
Check out: https://www.inspiredtaste.net/21462/soft-and-chewy-granola-bars-recipe/ for step by step instructions on how to make your own granola bars! You can choose any ingredients you like but the steps are the same 😊. The granola bars I made had: rolled oats, chopped almonds, raisins, and chocolate chips 🍫. Make sure you store them in an air tight container so they don’t harden up and stay fresh!
Can you believe we've reached a new decade? I can't believe 2020 has already arrived! Time does fly by so quick. Every year, many people decide on a resolution/goal they want to accomplish for the new year. But did you know that the majority of people fail to keep their New Years resolutions? Why do we have to wait until a new year approaches to get started with a resolution/goal? The best time to start working on a goal is anytime, you don't have to wait based on what the calendar and trends indicate. Below are some tips to help you be successful with your resolution/goal:
Choose one goal to work on only
Once you have accomplished that goal, work on another one
Break down your goal into simple tasks that can be easily completed
Tell your friends and family so they can support your goal
Write down your goal on paper
Work on your goal when you are ready and not when the calendar shows January 1
